This post focuses on one of the structural casualties of a winter storm that pummeled Atlanta February 12, 2014. The Craigie Building at 1204 Piedmont Avenue was a victim. Built in 1911, the building served as headquarters for the Georgia chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). The weight of the snow and ice sadly caused the roof to collapse. What remains looks like a movie set - but is salvageable from what the workers told me.
Such history behind these walls. I felt compelled to document it's untimely demise…and look forward to watching the rebirth.
